And then there's Maud...
Those of you who feel that Matt Tobey's Top 500 songs list is "phallocentric" just because it didn't include Tori Amos, Garbage or The Pointer Sisters need to chill. Don't overlook bands like White Stripes, X, Pixies, Velvet Underground, The Vaselines, Talking Heads, Quasi, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sonic Youth, all mentioned in one list or another. A group doesn't need to be all female to score vagina points.

My list alone included at least 35 female-performers, as well as songs called "Little Girls" and "London Lady" which have to count for something.

"When I put together my list, my objective was not to make it diverse. You will notice it contains more white people than black people, no Native Americans at all, and a vast majority of songs that came out before 1978. Do I hate women, black people, Native Americans, and every song of the post-MTV era? Sure I do, but that's a coincidence, as my aim was just to list some songs I like to listen to."
